Bringing New Life To Tires

Andrew Stevens happily spent the Saturday morning hurling tires to a semi-trailer’s back.

Andrew who is just fourteen years old said that he likes doing it, and that he feels good to be able to help the community.

He went along with his father, Kelley Stevens, in order to assist in collecting used tires from their community for recycling at the Bridgestone Americas Off Road Tire located at 1600 Fort Jesse Road in Normal.

Kelly Stevens who is also a tire builder at Bridgestone said that the event allows tires to be put back to recycling than in getting dumped at landfills.

Collecting tires for recycling

Currently in its 4th year, the Bridgestone event was able to collect numerous tire types, go-kart tires to tractor tires, to be forwarded to the Liberty Tire Recycling.

The recycling company will be shredding the used rubber tires with an equipment like a rubber granulator or a similar tool. Then, they will make rail road ties, welcome mats, athletic tracks, mulch for flowerbeds and playgrounds and a highway asphalt additive.

The rubber mulch from recycling lessens the method of harvesting trees used for wood ground cover. This is less expensive than wood mulch, and it also promotes safe playgrounds.

Bridgestone’s plant manager, Monty Greutman mentioned that the collection number increases each year. Last year, about 1,900 used tires were loaded into 3 semi-trailers. He expected that 2,000 or more Twin City tires are going to be forwarded to the Liberty Tire Recycling after the event this year.

Helping the environment

For Greutman, this event helps clean the environment and also keeps Bridgestone part of the community.

David Colter from Hopedale dropped agriculture tires. The volunteers got the tires from the truck using a forklift and put them to the semi-trailer. Colter said that he has been doing it for 3 years already.

Mike Thomas also dropped some tires off. He said that this is a great thing for their community. He added that it is better to get old tires out from yards instead of leaving them collect water and therefore attracting mosquitoes especially that Zika is prevalent lately. He also expressed that this a civic duty.

Fun Team Activities To Prevent The Winter Blues

Even if summer is over, there are still a lot of ways to keep a team of employees motivated through the busy season.

Afternoon Film Showing Trip

Paul Hager from Information Technology Professionals recalls how they rented the entire theatre for a private show of the film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” It was something that their team got excited about, and they really enjoyed it. They took their afternoon off, got a few beers, ordered pizza and relaxed for a few hours.

Go on Winter Getaways

Elliot Tomaeno from Astrsk PR talks about taking his team to the beach during summers, and they went to Bermuda this year. Lately, he started with mid-February retreats too. For him, energy can be kept all year round through activities outside the office.

Involve Family and Friends

Roger Lee from Captain401 suggests involving the team’s family as well as friends during company events in order to enhance team rapport. Even if it’s just game night or a simple dinner, keeping an event open for family and friends will allow interaction with the important people in an employee’s life. This builds understanding and collaboration.

Have Indoor Games at the Office

Maren Hogan from Red Branch Media shares that they have a pool table, a ping pong table, a drum set and a dart board to inspire their employees to rethink issues and collaborate. When these games are provided, it allows employees to get breaks and have time to talk over ideas or work together.

Plan the Holiday Party

Kristopher Jones from LSEO.com mentions that there is some disappointment in teams when the seasons change from summer to fall then winter. However, with the festive season near, this is a great moment to start with the holiday party planning.

Choose Fall Activities for Fun

Murray Newlands from Due remembers how he and his team went to pumpkin patches, competed in pumpkin carving contests and did mazes. This shows how business team building is possible any time of the year. And when the weather is especially nice, outdoor activities like scavenger hunts, hikes, walks for charity or community runs are possible.

Future Brides In India Are Anxious Because Of The Effect Of Demonetization

Brides-to-be in India are worried before their wedding day and not because of the usual reason. This is the peak season for weddings in the country and things are not going well for them. One of them is Mansi Sharma, interviewee’s name was changed as requested, and she is quite concerned for her wedding day. The whole family of Sharma had to wrestle with banks because they are either close or crowded with customers. Not to mention the fact that their ATM transactions are only limited. The spare cash they have at home is not even big enough to be used for the wedding day. The relatives of Sharma are worried too.

According to the cousin of Sharma, Priyanka Shivan, weddings are already challenging as it is and now they have to add more worries because of the unnecessary trouble they have to go through. This is brought about by the crisis that impacted the citizens after the immediate decision of the Indian government to demonetize some of their currency notes such as Rs 500 and Rs 1,000.

She also added that the wedding business is now much unorganized. Cash is required for most of the transactions they have to deal with. Add the fact that guests are adding up to their daily costs and they have to spend more in order to buy milk and to do grocery shopping. The florists as well as the tent rental vendors require that cash should be paid to them. Their relatives including her parents thought that they will be able to withdraw cash and give cash as a gift. The sad news is that the currency is now worthless and just a piece of paper. Some people might not be able to understand unless they know everything about an Indian wedding.

According to wedding planners and vendors that are in the wedding industry, a wedding can only push through if there is enough cash because almost all payments need to be in cash and the government’s sudden ban of the currency is a shock to the industry.

Good news for those in Australia, credits as well as cash is acceptable when booking a Marquee for Hire in Perth.

How To Use Linkedin For Lead Generation

LinkedIn is a social networking site that people use to meet with business minded individuals. The idea here is to find potential partners and not get pitched. A business can easily nurture relationships through LinkedIn; it is not the ideal place to promote and sell a product. People join LinkedIn to exchange ideas and conversations. If you decide to use LinkedIn for lead generation you have to build trust. When you create remarkable content, it can put you in the position of an expert.

Before you post the blog though LinkedIn Pulse, make sure you invite readers to make a comment or share it with other friends. After publishing the article or blog, LinkedIn will notify all your connections that a new blog has been posted. This will provide you the initial exposure to generate leads from the social networking site.

After your connections have finished reading the blog, it is very likely to receive a few comments; say thank you and start the ball rolling to get the conversation going. You now have a very good reason for sending a message without appearing spammy. Remember that you cannot just solicit LinkedIn members; your email can be flagged as spam.

After successfully creating remarkable content through LinkedIn Pulse, share it immediately to as many persons as possible with the hope that your post will be noticed by LinkedIn Editorial Team that can boost your post’s exposure. The more exposure your blog gains, the more engagements will be acquired. Soon enough, you have managed to gather enough assets for your business.

Get your content out there and position yourself as an export in the industry. Send an announcement that there is a new blog for your LinkedIn group and with one click; it will go directly to their email. There is a high potential for your blog to generate thousands of targeted leads aside from tons of traffic to your site.

Selling insurance to people can be a tough job. It makes sense to opt for lead generation for insurance agents through an inbound marketing program. Show your target audience that you have relevant content for the keywords they use to search the web for insurance.
