A request was submitted by YAC to the authorities for an additional of 18 months because they are still not doe with some aspects of the project.

Temples Worth Visiting In Bangkok This October

Tourists planning to visit the Kingdom should book accommodations ahead of time and get ferry tickets in Thailand through online portals or ticketing agencies for a hassle-free vacation. This year, the month of October is the most awaited among the people in the country because it is scheduled to be the cremation of the late King who passed away last year.

The most popular landmarks of Bangkok, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace, are not accessible to tourist during the entire month of October because of the Royal Cremation. According to Andrew J. Wood, a local resident and expert in the city, there are other temples that can be visited instead of these two.

Even in normal circumstances, October is considered to be the start of the peak season for Thailand as tourists all over the country make sure to drop by the city center. For this year, however, the entire country is paying their respect to His Majesty King Bhumiphol. The royal funeral will start on October 24 until 29 but the cremation is scheduled on October 26.

The occasion is sad for the whole Kingdom but it is very essential to their culture as well. With regards to this, they are predicting that around 250,000 visitors will be attending the cremation rites. With this, the Grand Palace will not be accessible from October 1 until 29.

Tourist can instead go to Wat Pho, just nearby Grand Palace. This is where the traditional Thai massage originated. This is where you will find the biggest reclining Buddha in all of Thailand. Inside the temple grounds is a massage school, the most popular and prestigious in the country, which was established in 1955. Visitors can get the traditional Thai massage for a fee.

Another landmark to visit is the Wat Arun which is the premier icon of the metropolitan city. It can be accessed through the boat that crosses the river from the Tha Tien Pier.

Other temples worth visiting are Wat Benchamabophtr known as the Marble Temple, Wat Saket also called Golden Mount and the Wat Traimit or solid Gold Buddha. Aside from these, make sure you have ferry tickets in Thailand to be able to view other islands and to discover all its hidden gems.
